Customer Reviews:

Review #1: Remanufactured GR-4
2007-03-22
Excellent product. It is surprising in its simplicity and ease of use. Big advantage over other grills of this type is the ability to remove the grill plates and wash in a dishwasher.
Another advantage is the ability to adjust the cooking temperature.
Takes very little time to cook since it has the same heat on both the bottom and top grill plates.
Incredible value since the remanufactured grill cannot be distinguished from a new one and it costs less than half the cost of a new one.

Review #2: Refurbished=gamble
2007-03-21
I just received my factory refurbished item; apparently "refurbished" is French for scratched up to #$%%. The flat griddle plates have deep gouges in them. I called Cuisinart and you have to replace factory refurbished items in whole; they will not send individual parts. Cost to buy one replacement plate is 32.00 or, 64% of the cost of the entire item. 32.00 + 50.00 for refurbished equals: just buy a new one.

Review #3: Super Griller...Like new! Works Great!!!

This grill looks brand new. Amazon says it was "remanufactured" but I see no sign that it was ever out of its package.

It is a nice grill and you can't beat this price.

Review #4: As promised

I have had the Griddler for a few weeks now and used it several times. So far I have no comlaints. All of the mechanical aspects of the Griddler work just fine. I have used it both as an open griddle for breakfast foods and as a closed 2-sided grill. I have noticed that when you use it, especially while making pancakes on the open griddle, the hot spots are on the edges of the cooking surface as opposed to the center. This may seem counter-intuitive, but you will notice that the heating element underneath runs around the edges of the cooking surface. The detachable cooking surfaces are so easy to clean. It is a lot better than the George Foreman grill I used to have. Hope this helps.

Review #5: luv my Cuis GR-4! A great asset for your kitchen. Refurby grill plates = shaky

I bought this for my girlfriend, because she likes paninis. It makes fantastic paninis. I've done delicious tuna fish, eggplant parm w/marinara, Cubanas, corned beef n cabbage, alder grilled homestyle teriaki salmon, and last night we had sesame pitas stuffed w/greek seasoned Quorn Tenders, feta, tadziki, cukes, and spinach. I enjoy using the grill plates so much the griddle plates haven't been out of the wrap yet.

That whole floating hinge thing is where it's at, I'm telling ya, you can make some phat and satisfying Sannys. Costco now sells one of these, but in my opinion, it is not as well built as this model. That one has a mirror stainless (paw prints) where this Amazon.com model has the light brushed stainless. Also the Amazon.com model's grill plates felt thicker, (heavier, different cast) and appeared to have a heavier application of the n/stick coating than the model available at Costco.

The only critical thing I would say, the grill plates could have been packaged better, they took a beating in transit and the n/stick coating got compromised, especially around the perimeter.

Mix your favorite fillings with different bread and cheese combos for new flavors. Rustic breads work great, so does focaccia, (halved, not sliced or cheese won't melt) or ciabatta rolls. Use Rogue Smokey Blue cheese or a 4 month old Manchego and suddenly your old favorites are "punched up" and new again. The Cuisinart GR-4 gives you lots of new menu options and takes up not so much space, (would be ideal for a dorm room chef). The GR-4 is Well Spent money in the world of kitchen gadgetry.
